So you think you might want to add a crested to your household and you wonder what to do next.

Adding any pet to your house is never an easy decision, and it's not one you should make spur of the moment because you think the pictures are cute.
Cresteds, nor any dog, should be purchased because they look cool or you think they would make a great accessory.

This is a unique breed and like the couple of other hairless breeds of dogs do require skin care, dental care and a sense of adventure.

Because the hairless version do sometimes have more shallow roots on their teeth it is important to provide a correct diet and consistent dental cleaning to help ward off issues.

Some Cresteds have almost perfect skin, others are prone to skin break outs.  Cresteds also have been known to have issues with lanolin and wool products.

Please realize if you email me asking about my dogs, I'm going to be asking you a lot of questions.  I want to know about past pets you've had.  Who will be taking care of the dog? Where will it live?  Have you owned a crested or other hairless breed before?  What do you want to do with the dog? Do you want a pet to snuggle with on the couch?  Do you want to start into the show ring?  Do you want to go into obedience?

There are many other questions I'll ask as well.  Don't think I'm doing this to invade your privacy.  I'm doing this to protect my puppies, my reputation and your household.  The worst thing that can happen is to put a puppy into a home that is not prepared for it and have the puppy dumped at a shelter or turned into rescue.  When I place a dog or puppy in a new home it is with the intention of it being a forever home not a for now home.

That being said no matter what happens in life, my dogs are always welcome home, no matter the age, the health or the distance.

So if you think you want a crested drop me a line.  Lets talk about the breed a little bit and see if this is the right one for you.

Money will buy a fine dog, but only kindness makes him wag his tail.
