Wow where to begin with Savannah.  In June of 2001 I flew out to El Paso to pick up a Miniature Pinscher puppy from a breeder friend.  While there her friend Steve Wantuck (Wanrod's) called to say one of his cresteds was delivering and we could come look at puppies if we wanted.  After one quick glance at the pups I told Steve if he had a girl he wanted shown to call me and I'd do it.

In December of 2001 he called with an offer on a hairless girl to co-own and show, and TJ flew to Georgia   Within a few shows it became apparent she didn't like being in front of all the strangers.  Steve and I talked and agreed the best thing for TJ was to be spayed and placed in a pet home, where she didn't have to preform.  He then offered to send me a new girl when the right one was born. June of 2002 the right one was born and when she was old enough Savannah came to live with me.

Right away in the show ring Savannah took off winning.  She was so much fun to show with her flashy furnishings and fantastic reach and drive.  Super friendly and very happy.  Savannah finished quickly with several breed wins.  During the time I was showing her I met a person in Canada whom I'd heard good things about and trusted her to take Savannah up north for a Canadian title and a potential breeding.

The title came quickly and breeding was also achieved.  Savannah flew back home though a very different dog.  Scared of loud noises, cameras and the flash, and a quivering mass of scared dog when trying to get her to free bait or stack herself.   While the goal of a title was gained, it was at the cost of my dogs mental health.  I don't know what happened to her, and since have heard very horrid things about this person.  Steve and I trusted her at the time though and even sent her another show girl to own and we would both get a puppy from her first litter.  By contract this was supposed to happen.  Turns out she sold Sasha and all the puppies and never told us about it. It was just a funny twist of an internet posting I found out about it.

But back to Savannah...

In January 2004 Savannah delivered a litter of 5 puppies.  One being my heart dog Rachel.
One  was sold to Janie Buser in IN where JRF'S Fox in Sox at JS&S ( Huli) began her show career.  I did have the pleasure of finishing her in Greenville, SC. Two puppies were placed in an obedience/agility home and one went to a pet home.

Savannah has had a couple more litters since then, And with her last litter delivered a really nice boy who lives with Letha Jones in WV and is just looking for his majors.one single point to finish.

If you think dogs can't count, try putting three dog biscuits in your pocket and then give him only two of them.
